Organization profile of the ICLAM Association

ICLAM is a three level organization. The first level consist of members. Membership is free, but restricted to insurance professionals. The second level is called the Bureau. Every participating country can appoint one representative as ICLAM Bureau member. A full list of the Bureau members can be found at the page Bureau. The Bureau meets every three years before each congress. Between congresses, the Bureau is consulted for suggestions as to the topics of interest. Bureau members also participate in Portfolio Committees.

ICLAM is governed by the Board. New members of the Board are recruited from the Bureau and from the ICLAM members. Board members do not represent a country but are elected on the basis of their skills and expertise.

The latest revision of the ICLAM Statutes came into effect in April 2024.

 

Name and registered office:
Under the name “The International Committee for Insurance Medicine (ICLAM)” exists as an association in accordance with Art. 60 ff. ZGB with its registered headquarters in Zurich (General-Guisan-Quai 40, 8022 Zürich, Switzerland)

 

Purpose:
The purpose of the International Committee for Insurance Medicine (ICLAM) is to provide a renowned international platform for:

  • Bringing together international experience in insurance medicine.
  • Applying advances in medicine and regulatory and societal aspects to insurance business.
  • Facilitating discussion of topics with a clear relevance to insurance business.
  • Promoting exchange of knowledge with other disciplines.
  • Promoting teaching of and research into relevant aspects of Insurance Medicine.
  • Supporting existing and promoting new societies, associations, or groups of people involved in Insurance Medicine internationally.
  • Fostering the personal relationship of its members.


To achieve these goals, ICLAM will engage, among others, in the following activities:

  • Organising a triennial international conference in insurance medicine
  • Utilising as many of the latest tools of communication as practically feasible
  • Pursuing multiple educational options or academic pathways.
